I have always been partial to motivational quotes like this, because, let’s face it, life is challenging and surrounding yourself with positivity always helps.
There is a saying in my faith that the hardest battle is often within one’s own self and i think nothing truer has ever been spoken. Studies are now showing that social media (including, ironically, blogs like this) can make people feel worse off in their own lives when the green monster of jealousy rears its ugly head (so that’s why I talk about both positive stuff and negative stuff happening in my life – no one can escape from those dark moments).
It’s hard enough to get through things in life alone, so i present to you my top 5 motivational quotes to takeaway and impute into memory for those hard rainy days.
1. When life throws you lemons, make lemonade.
This one is a classic – Julia Roberts just quoted this in a recent Ellen Degeneres show.
2. It’ll be ok in the end.. If it’s not ok, it’s not the end.
I love quotes given by celebrities since it reminds us of how they are just like any of us, and it is worth remembering that they didn’t get to where they are today by being, well, wimps. This one is by my favourite husband of all time – Bill Rancic. (There must be only 6 guys like him in the world, cause he’s like literally one in a billion.)
3. Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings and emotions.
A Will Smith quote this time. (Now I don’t know whether the trouble in paradise rumours are true but if they are, I’m sure Mr and Mrs Smith won’t have a shortage of motivational quotes to help them along.)
4. What screws us up the most is the picture in our head of how it’s supposed to be.
This is the top quote that sticks to my mind from my all-time favourite website, Pinterest. (I spend way more on this site than I really should.
5. If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.
Now Maya Angelou… if only it were all so easy and light as you put it.
Now go – and in the words of Olivia Wilde – be awesome.
